On December 14, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Stephane Visconti (France), Andrew Schofer (USA), Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Federation to Armenia Alexey Sinegubov, as well as the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
As reported by the press service of the government, the prime minister noted that this is the first visit of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to the region after the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno- Karabakh. Nikol Pashinyan considered it necessary to resume negotiations within the framework of the co- chairmanship of the Minsk Group with the aim of a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Prime Minister stressed the priority of clarifying the status of Artsakh, taking into account the importance of realizing the right of the Karabakh people to self-determination, de-occupation of the territories occupied by Azerbaijan, creating conditions for the safe return of Artsakh Armenians to their homes, and preserving their religious and cultural heritage.
The Prime Minister condemned the violation of the obligations assumed by Azerbaijan in a trilateral statement, which was reflected in the provocative actions that took place on the line of contact between Artsakh and Azerbaijan on December 11 and 12. During the meeting, issues related to the situation after the war, the resumption of the negotiation process, the restoration of the rights of the Artsakh Armenians and ensuring their security were discussed.
