ArmInfo. Extraordinary parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia no later than in six months. Leader of the "Bright Armenia" faction Edmon Marukyan stated this during a briefing on December 11, answering journalists' questions. However, under what conditions this will happen, and who organizes the elections, the MP found it difficult to answer.
At the same time, he recalled that the "Bright Armenia" faction is ready to undertake obligations to organize the elections, guaranteeing their transparency and fairness. But if the voice of the opposition is not heard and the current prime minister does not resign, the faction, according to Marukyan, will continue to do what it does today - to present the voices of those thousands of citizens, carry out alternative opposition activities, show what opportunities and alternatives are available today. At the same time, he stressed that in the entire political history of Armenia, the opposition's demand was fulfilled only once - in 2018, when it was about the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan.
