ArmInfo.Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan criticized the statements of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkey at the military parade in Baku, where claims were expressed on the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
Thus, the statement of the Ombudsman of Armenia, in particular, says: "On December 10, during a military event in the capital of Azerbaijan, the President of this country stated that Zangezur, Lake Sevan and Yerevan [the Republic of Armenia] are the historical lands of Azerbaijan. After that, the President of Turkey praised the organizers and perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, as well as the massacre of Armenians in Baku in September 1918.
In addition, the speeches of the presidents of both Azerbaijan and Turkey were full of threats to the life and health of the entire population of Armenia, insults and expressions inciting hatred against the entire Armenian people. An analysis carried out by the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia confirms that today's speeches by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey contained the same accents and words of hatred and enmity that the Azerbaijani military used during this war to torture, brutal killings or inhuman treatment with exceptional cynicism against Armenian servicemen and civilians ".
Tatoyan stressed that it was precisely such statements that over the years have created in the Azerbaijani institutional system of propaganda of hatred and enmity on the basis of ethnicity towards Armenians, open encouragement of impunity and support at a high state level. The Armenian Ombudsman stated that the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces in September-November 2020, with their degree of cruelty, do not even fit into the human imagination. "These are actions of such cruelty that even require scientific research in order to finally understand the degree of atrocities that a person is capable of. In his speech, inciting hatred towards Armenians and threatening the entire Armenian people, the President of Turkey noted that today is the day of glorification of the souls of Ahmed Cevad. Bey, Nuri Pasha, Enver Pasha, members of the Islamic Army of the Caucasus It is an established fact that these people are Young Turks who organized and committed the genocide of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, accompanied by murder, mutilation, torture and rape.
Among them, in particular, Enver Pasha, as the Minister of War of the Ottoman Empire (1913-1918), during the years of the Armenian Genocide was one of the main organizers of atrocities, and Major General Jevad Bey, during the First World War, being the commandant of the city Constantinople (now Istanbul) and a member of the Turkish state special, ideological organization of pan-Turkism "Teshkilat-i Makhsus", directly organized and carried out acts of genocide. Moreover, these people, in particular Nuri Pasha, brother of Enver Pasha, in the ranks of the Caucasian Islamic Army, participated in the massacres of Armenians in Baku in September 1918, which were accompanied by torture and rape. The praise of these people by the Turkish President, especially such an action during a public speech at a military parade, is a clear genocidal intent. Even more incitement to hatred is the obvious goal of this speech.
Added to this are the two presidents' obvious false claims that the Armenians carried out the destruction of Azerbaijani or Turkish religious objects or values. These statements are a clear terrorization, an obvious threat to the life and health of the entire people of Armenia, the entire civilian population, which are absolutely prohibited by international law. The above-mentioned speeches also confirm the Azerbaijani policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide by terrorist methods in Artsakh during this war, "Tatoyan said. In conclusion, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia called on the international community to take decisive preventive measures on the above-mentioned, absolutely condemnable, phenomena that violate the basic principles of international law and undermine the entire international system of human rights and humanitarian protection.
