ArmInfo. A rally of the Movement to Save the Motherland has started in front of the National Assembly of Armenia.
Thus, on December 9 citizens demanding the resignation of Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan from different districts of Yerevan went to the building of the National Assembly, where the rally has started at 4:00 pm.
In an interview with reporters, head of the ''Homeland party'', ex-head of the National Security Service, Artur Vanetsyan, said that the capitulator must leave, there is no other option. “We will hold protest actions until the person sitting in the chair in the government understands that he must leave,” Vanetsyan said.
At the same time, he said that information coming from various sources gives reason to believe that the authorities have sold our Motherland. Vanetsyan assured that the public pressure on the current authorities will increase day by day.
“Pashinyan is just playing for time. It is unclear why he does this. One of the reasons may be that he has unfulfilled communications that he must complete. Another reason is attempts to continue to enjoy public goods. This may be due to the fact that he is afraid. But he has nothing to fear, we have already talked about this,” Vanetsyan said.
In turn, representative of the ARF, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, noted that they have one demand, the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. At the same time, he added that new supporters are joining them day after day. To clarify whether they will accept Pashinyan if he again enlists the support of the people, the ARF member noted that the decision is for the people. “I rule out such a development of the situation. But, nevertheless, in our country the people make the decision, and they will determine the composition of the new government, ”Saghatelyan said, stressing once again that the person who pulverizes the remnants of the Armenian statehood must leave.
Meanwhile, member of the National Assembly of Armenia Naira Zohrabyan expressed her conviction that even if three million people take to the streets, Nikol Pashinyan will not leave. She noted that the country today is in a serious crisis, including due to the failed fight of the authorities against the coronavirus pandemic.
“There will be public pressure every day. Every day Nikol Pashinyan must see that he has become a stranger in this country and must leave, ”Zohrabyan said, adding that every day he loses the chance for a humanitarian crisis.
To note, the rally in front of the National Assembly is numerous. Thousands of people came to parliament and chant "Nikol, traitor!", "Nikol, leave!" Large police forces are also drawn to the parliament.
