ArmInfo. The office of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, confirmed the authenticity of the recording of the conversation with President Lukashenko about the surrender of Artsakh.
Thus, in a statement from Sargsyan's office, it is noted that they have received numerous inquiries from the media regarding the authenticity of the audio recording disseminated yesterday evening by one of the telegram channels. In particular, the media were interested in whether the discussion contained in the audio recording was true, when it took place, where and why until now the third RA President Serzh Sargsyan did not speak about it.
"It is unclear how the recording of the non-public conversation of the presidents during a narrow-format meeting at the session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) held in Yerevan on October 14, 2016, ended up on the Internet.
The office of the third RA President accepts the publication of the audio recording as a fact and refrains from commenting, taking into account the fact that the meetings held in a closed format are not subject to commenting, as they were not subject to until now, "the statement of the office of the third RA President says.
The night before, the telegram channel @ bagramyan26 posted a recording of the conversation between the third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko about Nagorno- Karabakh.
Thus, the RA President notes that Yerevan wants to live in peace and tranquility.
To that Lukashenka retorts him: "Well, what does it mean I will give them 7 districts, and they will start fighting! And if they do not start?"
To which Sargsyan replies that he cannot leave the fate of the 150-thousand population at random or if.
"Well, then I say, since we are an organization, then let's protect. We will make sure that there is no war. Decide how, up to the point of sending certain peacekeeping forces there. We will not go there to fight, but agreements to be respected . It seems to me that your position is weak here, "Lukashenko said to Sargsyan, noting that I will not give up the districts to adhere to the position, since they will go to war later, because they may not go to war.
To which Sargsyan approved the CSTO's desire to resolve this issue, but at the same time expressed bewilderment why today Armenia should just give up the regions without any guarantees that Azerbaijan will not go to war with it later.
"Why just like that, he offered you 5 billion at the first stage," Lukashenka said. To which Sargsyan said that he was ready to give Aliyev 6 billion, let him give up these 7 areas.
After these phrases of Sargsyan, Lukashenko accused the RA President of unwillingness to settle this issue.
"I cannot do this. Why? Because these 7 regions were conquered by the lives of 5,000 children. 5,000 people died there," Sargsyan said.
This statement of the RA President again caused a misunderstanding of the Belarusian leader, who stated that during the Second World War 30 million lives were lost, but today they are not at war with the Germans. To which Sargsyan noted that Armenia lost no less then, only 30 thousand Armenians died for Belarus. This audio recording caused a wide public response and various interpretations. So, some citizens began to wonder where did the third president of the Republic of Armenia get so much money that he was ready to buy out 7 districts, they say so much was looted during his years in power. The leak of this record to the network again raises many questions, up to why it was leaked to the Internet right now. It can be assumed that one of the arguments in favor of this "leaking" was the assertion thrown in by Pashinyan's supporters that "the territories were sold" even under Serzh Sargsyan, and Pashinyan had no choice but to sign this act of surrender. Or is it a weak attempt to restore the "tarnished reputation" of the third RA President, to whom the Armenian society does not have a very good attitude.
