ArmInfo.Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, who is the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, demands that the government account for the funds transferred by the Fund to the government. He wrote about this in a letter to the members of the Board of Trustees.
He noted that a significant part of the financial resources collected by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund during the difficult days of the war, at the request of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, by the decision of the Board of Trustees, was transferred in the form of donations to the allocated treasury account of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in order to finance infrastructure, social and health expenses. ... In this vein, the President noted that, as before, and now he was of the opinion that these funds should have been transferred to the government as a debt. "However, the majority of the members of the Board of Trustees made a different decision," stressed Armen Sargsyan.
"The government must submit a clear, detailed and transparent account of the expenditures made with the funds of the fund, and as publicly as possible," the president said, stressing that there is also a need for an international audit.
Recall that with the outbreak of the war, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund initiated fundraising in support of Artsakh within the framework of the project "We and Our Borders: Everything for Artsakh", as a result of which about $ 170 million was raised. Later, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said that part of the collected funds was transferred to the Armenian government to improve the efficiency of spending.
