ArmInfo. The first president of Armenia Levon Ter- Petrosyan sees the threat of civil war. He expressed a similar opinion after yesterday's opposition rally, which took place demanding the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan.
In particular, most of all, the first president was worried about the speech of the opposition candidate for the post of prime minister Vazgen Manukyan, who spoke about the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan - either voluntary or forced.
He noted that if only one of the opposing sides adhered to such a position, the threat would not be so great. But, according to Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Manukyan discards the fact that Pashinyan's side shares a similar opinion, who with all his rhetoric and behavior shows that he does not intend to voluntarily leave, and is ready for any confrontation. "Therefore, if the two sides are determined, a clash is inevitable," he stressed. At the same time, Levon Ter-Petrosyan noted that, taking into account the shameful defeat for Armenia and Artsakh, Pashinyan's regime must certainly leave, but not through intra-national clashes, but exclusively by constitutional means. In this regard, the ex-head of state urged citizens not to participate in mass actions initiated by both the government and the opposition, which not only threaten the civil war society, but are also dangerous from the point of view of the spread of the coronavirus.
"I hopelessly expect our intelligentsia to come out with their sobering words at least once," he said.
