ArmInfo. Armenia needs to update its legal framework by concluding a new security agreement with strategic partner - the Russian Federation.

The leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" party and the faction of the same name in the  Armenian parliament Edmon Marukyan wrote about this on his Facebook  page.  In his words, the new legal framework will dispel all fears of  Armenian citizens about the security of the country's territory.  Politician stressed that as a result of contacts with compatriots  living in the regions, it turned out that people have certain fears  about their future. The enemy can encroach on their communities,  since the border is already very close to their communities. In this  regard, the deputy hastened to assure them that Armenia is in the  same security zone as Russia. He recalled the existence of relevant  treaties and agreements, including the Collective Security Treaty  Organization, according to which an attack on the territory of  Armenia is tantamount to an attack on all the countries of the  Organization. The documents also regulate relations related to the  status of the RF border troops in the RA. "In other words, an armed  attack on the David Bek community in the Syunik region of the  Republic of Armenia is equivalent to an armed attack on any city in  Russia. Given these legal foundations, such an attack should have the  same military- political consequences.
