ArmInfo.Given the 6-fold superiority of the enemy, the Defense Army of Nagorno-Karabakh has done the utmost in such a situation. A similar opinion, answering a question from ArmInfo, during the Moscow-Yerevan online bridge organized by Sputnik Armenia, was expressed by Doctor of Military Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences on Information Policy Konstantin Sivkov.
"The overwhelming superiority of Azerbaijan in relation to the Armenian forces is an absolute fact. The Azerbaijani army was supported not only by militants from Syria, but also by Turkish instructors. The officers of the Turkish General Staff actually carried out direct control of the hostilities. This is also a fact. In fact, the French parliament recognized Turkey as a participant of the conflict for good reason, "he said.
In such conditions, the NKR Defense Army, according to the expert, having exhausted the enemy to the utmost in 44 days of war, even at the cost of losing territories, did the maximum that it could do in principle. Thus, in the 44-day war, in his opinion, one can state at least a combat draw.
According to Sivkov, Azerbaijan was unable to solve its main task - the complete occupation of the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh. Baku was able to conquer only 4 regions, having received three more following the results of negotiations. In such conditions, the defeat of the Defense Army can not be stated. "The Karabakh army won a partial victory under the conditions of the monstrous superiority of the enemy. No army in the world could have achieved more. Objectively, this is the greatest feat. It was simply impossible to achieve more," the military expert is convinced.
Even with the participation of volunteer detachments from Armenia, Azerbaijan, according to Sivkov's estimates, still had a 4-fold superiority over the Armenian side. And in terms of armaments for 100 T-90 tanks, Armenia, for example, had one such tank. Azerbaijan had absolute superiority in the Smerch and Pion self-propelled guns. Initially, Azerbaijan had 60 drones, plus the Turkish "Bayraktars", through which it created a reconnaissance and strike complex, striking the second echelon of the Armenian defense. "Nevertheless, despite all this monstrous superiority, the rate of advancement of the Azerbaijani offensive still did not exceed a kilometer per day. And such extremely low rates are evidence of the powerful Armenian defense. For example, having only 6 ''Shilka'' self-propelled guns, and another 10 in service of the Armenian Armed Forces, by the 20th day of the war, the Karabakh people managed to destroy 46 Azerbaijani and Turkish drones. After that, the drones practically stopped participating in hostilities," Sivkov concluded.
