ArmInfo.The issue of finding bodies and missing persons in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone is in the focus of attention of the Russian side. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this on December 3 during a weekly briefing.
At the same time, she pointed out the sensitivity of this issue for the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides.
According to Zakharova, Russian peacekeepers carry out search operations using modern special equipment.
At the same time, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that efforts are continuing to observe the ceasefire; no violations of the ceasefire have been recorded. She recalled the telephone conversations between the heads of the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, as well as the heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries. According to her, the talks centered on the modalities of the work of the peacekeeping contingent, the further provision of humanitarian aid, and the promotion of the preservation of cultural and religious sites.
"Russian peacekeepers continue to monitor the situation around the clock, the observance of the ceasefire regime, and the creation of conditions for the return of refugees - since November 14, about 30 thousand refugees have already returned to their homes. They also ensure the safety of traffic on the roads," Zakharova said.
Referring to the vandalism recorded in the region, she expressed her conviction that UNESCO experts can give a full answer to this question. In this regard, Zakharova welcomed the decision of the head of UNESCO to send an expert group to the region and expressed the hope that they will be sent to Nagorno- Karabakh as soon as possible.
