ArmInfo. The "Enlightened Armenia" faction has prepared a package of bills aimed at solving the issue of material support for the families of prisoners of war and missing soldiers. The press service of the party reports.
According to the source, the law is now in force, according to which contract servicemen retain their official rate, which, however, is paid only after it is established whether the soldier was captured or voluntarily surrendered to the enemy. According to the current law, the de facto captured military personnel are considered guilty until they prove that they did not commit a crime. That is, the presumption of innocence provided for by the Constitution is violated. Moreover, this is absolutely not the attitude that military personnel deserve.
At the same time, the law does not provide for any state support to the relatives of the missing servicemen. The bill proposes to provide monthly financial assistance to families of captured servicemen and families of soldiers who have disappeared, including those who voluntarily participated in hostilities. The bill also proposes to pay a monthly allowance to the families of captured civilians.
