ArmInfo. The Council of the Parliament again convened sessions to submit amendments to the appeal to the Constitutional Court on depriving MP Gagik Tsarukyan of the powers of. This was reported by the press service of the parliament.
According to the source, the Council proposes to add a clause to the document on sending it to the Constitutional Court, as well as on the entry into force of the decision from the moment of its publication.
To note, on November 24, the Council of the Parliament submitted to the Constitutional Court an appeal on suspending MP Tsarukyan of the powers. Within a month, the Constitutional Court must make a decision on this issue. The MPs from the ruling faction stated that the basis for the appeal is Article 95 of the Constitution of Armenia and the decision of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption of October 26, 2020 "On the violation of the requirements of incompatibility of a NA member." According to Article 95 of the Constitution, a deputy has no right to hold a position not determined by his status in state bodies or in other local self-government bodies, any position in commercial organizations, or engage in entrepreneurial activity.
To recall, Tsarukyan was also charged with tax evasion on an especially large scale, as well as with bribery of voters and appropriation of large land plots. In June this year, the parliament deprived Tsarukyan of his parliamentary immunity.
