ArmInfo. Scientific and research centers of Armenia will again receive the right to conduct examinations related to the illegal circulation of narcotic and psychotropic substances. At a meeting on December 2, the Parliamentary Commission on Health and Social Affairs issued a positive opinion on the amendments submitted by the government to the law "On narcotic and psychotropic substances", as well as on a package of related laws.
According to the RA Deputy Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, earlier by the law, research centers were given the right to carry out the relevant reasons, but several years ago, for some unknown reason, this provision fell out of the law, which led to a number of problems. In particular, if necessary, the centers were no longer able to carry out research work related to narcotic and psychotropic substances, since they did not have legal powers. Now this right will be restored, but a prerequisite for this should be that research centers have an appropriate license, for which they will be required to pay a state fee. -v- More about this source textSource text required for additional translation information
