ArmInfo. A film about the life of the Armenian portrait painter Sargis Mangasaryan (Zako) will be presented at the largest international animation film festival ANNECY in June 2021.
This is an animated film about the life of an artist who became a prisoner of a concentration camp during World War II. It is only thanks to his exceptional talent that he remains alive in the concentration camp. This is a touching story about an artist who was forced to paint portraits of those who tortured him. Film "Zako" took part in the online work on the development of projects for animated films and piching, organized by the international animation film festival ANNECY, Saqanima Georgian Animators Association and "ReAnimania".
Note that it is based on the graphic novel of the same name by the artist's son Tigran Mangasaryan, who is also the director of the picture. The producer of the film "Zako" was Susanna Khachatryan, the screenwriter was Edgar Baghdasaryan.
