ArmInfo. Russia welcomes the joint statement of reputable NGO partners of UNESCO on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this on November 27 during a weekly briefing.
"We welcome the joint statement by the I International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the International Council on Archives (ICA), the International Council of Museums, and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. These reputable NGO partners of UNESCO called on all parties involved in the implementation of the ceasefire agreement actively ensure respect and protection of all objects of cultural, historical, architectural and religious heritage, including in accordance with the provisions of the Cannes Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict from 1954.
