ArmInfo. Currently, two programs of social assistance to compatriots from Artsakh who have found temporary refuge in Armenia are being implemented. The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mesrop Arakelyan stated this on November 26 at a government session.
According to him, within the framework of one of the programs, compatriots are provided with a one-time financial aid in the amount of 68 thousand AMD for each person. Within the framework of this program, 30 thousand citizens have registered. Nevertheless, as the minister noted, it is possible that the number of beneficiaries will be increased to 94 thousand people. Taking into account the epidemiological situation associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, funds through "Haypost" and "Artsakhpost" branches will be transferred gradually. At the first stage, assistance will be provided to 3 thousand citizens with a subsequent increase in the number of addressees. This, according to the minister, is necessary to eliminate queues. Starting next week, electronic registration of beneficiaries of the second program will begin, which provides assistance to families who find themselves outside their settlements. Within the framework of this program, the amount of financial assistance will be 300 thousand drams for each person.
In turn, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the beneficiaries of both programs are not families, but all family members. In the near future, several more programs will be adopted, which will be aimed at assisting people who have lost their homes over their heads. In this matter, Pashinyan continued, it is necessary to hold quick consultations with the Artsakh government in order to register this category of citizens. "But our main task should be to assist in the return of citizens to their places of permanent residence. The core of all these programs is to achieve this goal," the head of the Armenian government said.
