Hrant Bagratyan: We lost the war due to a number of tactical,  political and strategic mistakes

ArmInfo.  We lost the war mainly because of the UAV. It is not clear why we bought the Su-30 SM, an offensive weapon, while we need to defend ourselves. Former Prime  Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan stated this at a press  conference.  He noticed that it was not our only mistake. "The next  mistake is the creation of a centralized air defense system instead  of dispersing these forces. This very centralized air defense was  destroyed on the 27th of the month at 7:30 in Shushi.

In all of Karabakh, we had 7 air defense missile systems-TOR  divisions, while we needed 30. For 140 million dollars, one could buy  at least 7 <TOR>. 85% of our military equipment has been destroyed,"  Bagratyan emphasized.

According to him, there are three groups of reasons for defeat:  political, military-technical, organizational.  "The first sub-clause  of the political reason was that Armenia did not and still does not  recognize the independence of the NKR. Even now, Nikol does not have  the courage to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh.  The second political  mistake was that there was an anti-Russian line.  The third strategic  mistake was that we offended Iran so much that it did not want to let  cargo through its territory.

The fourth strategic mistake is ruined relations with Georgia.  The  fifth mistake is a slap in the face to China at the level of Tigran  Avinyan (RA Deputy Prime Minister - ed.note). China, which claims to  be an anti-Turkish state.

Another political mistake: we are satisfied with our relations with  the French state, but Western Europe is allied with the United  States. The discussion in the UN Security Council failed due to  Britain, "the former prime minister said.

"The main organizational reason for the defeat in the war is poor  work in the rear. It was organized worse than 27 years ago. I could  not imagine that more than half of the army did not have "bulletproof  vests", ninety percent of the victims are the result of their  absence.  Personnel issues became another mistake of the war. After the setbacks, an order was given to  counterattack, encircle, destroy the enemy.  Figuratively speaking,  1000 people were supposed to surround 10,000 people. How is this  possible?  The Prime Minister's wife intervened in this order. And  the southern corps was destroyed.
