ArmInfo. It is up to us, not the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries, to solve our problems, to do everything possible for this. Moreover, all without exception. This opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by the Chairman of the International Center for Human Development Tevan Poghosyan.
"Our main problems today are refugees and prisoners of war. The first two problems need immediate solution. It is necessary to think about specific points of Armenia's foreign policy strategy. Think about how we are going to resolve the issue of recognizing Artsakh. Determine what we actually want. we have to start working in this direction with all partners with whom this is possible, "he stressed.
In this light, Poghosyan noted that any country, taking this or that step, primarily does it in its own interests. In this context, the analyst wondered about the motivation of the same France. Is her support to Armenia of a moral and humanitarian nature, or are the French steps conditioned by the desire to put pressure on certain subjects? In his opinion, all this has to be realized and acted in accordance with real ideas about the situation.
Commenting on the disagreements observed among the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries after the November 9 trilateral statement, the analyst noted that the presence of three co-chairing countries already means the presence of three opinions regarding Artsakh. At the same time, the format of the Minsk Group, in his opinion, is good because its statements are always acceptable for all three countries. In particular, the statement by France, the United States and Russia on the need to return to negotiations.
In this light, Armenia, in Poghosyan's opinion, today needs to actively work towards achieving the definition of Artsakh's status. First of all, due to the fact that it is the unresolved status issue that will always be accompanied by the existence of the Karabakh conflict. It is also necessary to define the borders of Artsakh in the understanding of Armenia, so that the countries intending to recognize the independence of Artsakh could build on at least these ideas.
"We have no right to live on hopes and let others do our job. It is necessary to find ways out of the current crisis in order to form an integral Armenian potential in the direction of advancing the ways of solving Armenian problems. The latter requires immediate changes within Armenia. Peaceful change without shocks by forming a crisis management group to replace the current government. Only after that, and after defining the priorities of Armenia, France and other countries will stand next to us, "Poghosyan summed up.
