ArmInfo. Russia expects international organizations to take part in the process of further settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to TASS, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this on November 24.
According to him, in Karabakh, "the situation is generally stabilizing, the Russian center for humanitarian response is starting to work, which will provide assistance to residents of the affected areas, restore infrastructure, and create conditions for a normal, peaceful life."
"We except on the significant participation of specialized international organizations in these efforts. We proceed from the fact that all this creates the preconditions for a long-term and full-scale settlement of the long-standing conflict on a just basis, in the interests of the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples," the Russian leader said.
Putin noted that Russia has made diligent efforts to stop the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, which resulted in the deaths of thousands of citizens of Azerbaijan and Armenia. At the same time, Moscow followed the key agreements reached with the OSCE Minsk Group, including its co-chairs - the Russian Federation, the United States and France. "The main thing that has been achieved is to stop the bloodshed, to fix the establishment of a truce in the trilateral statement of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia," Putin stressed. The President recalled that a Russian peacekeeping contingent is currently dispatched to the region to monitor compliance with the ceasefire, ensure the safety of civilians, and accompany returning refugees and humanitarian supplies.
