ArmInfo.The European Court of Human Rights satisfied the demands of the Armenian side to take an urgent measure against Azerbaijan. Former Minister of Justice, human rights activist Artak Zeynalyan announced this on his Facebook page. Zeynalyan noted that the case concerns the rights of servicemen who were captured by Azerbaijan as a result of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh.
"On behalf of the family members of Armenian prisoners of war, applications were sent to the ECHR, which expressed the demand to take urgent measures against the inhuman treatment of prisoners of war and to protect the their rights. The ECHR demanded that Azerbaijan provide documented information about the prisoners, their whereabouts, conditions their content and medical care.
The deadline for providing the required information ends on November 27, 2020. This decision was made due to the fact that the leadership of Azerbaijan did not provide reliable information about these persons of war in due time.
The prisoners of war are: Samvel Asatryan, Arsen Karapetyan, Norik Arakelyan, Gegham Elibekyan, Vahe Abrahamyan, Hovsep Sahakyan, Samvel Kastaktsyan, Samvel Knyazyan, Edik Tonoyan, Valery Hayrapetyan, Harutyun Gevorgyan, Arman Harutyunyan, Mikayel Martirosyan,Ludvig Mkrtchyan,Petros Ghazaryan, Sargis Soghomonyan, Khachik Hakobyan.
