ArmInfo. Russia handed over examples of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccines to the Armenian Ministry of Health. This became known following the opening ceremony of a mobile laboratory donated by Rospotrebnadzor to the Ministry of Health of Armenia, which was attended by a Russian delegation consisting of Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko and Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.
As reported by the press service of the RA Ministry of Health, Arsen Torosyan noted that the assistance that Russia has been providing for the development of the healthcare system in Armenia for many years is invaluable. "From the first days of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Russia has provided assistance to Armenia," he said.
The Minister also stressed that within the framework of the programs of assistance to Armenia, vaccines, laboratories and diagnostic devices, including mobile diagnostic and treatment clinics, were provided. In particular, he noted that within the framework of humanitarian aid, Rostpotrebnadzor regularly supplies Armenia with test systems and reagents for laboratory diagnostics of COVID-19. "Today, we gratefully accept another important help from our Russian partners - we have been presented with another mobile diagnostic and treatment system that will help fight infectious diseases and prevent their spread," said Arsen Torosyan. At the same time, he noted that Russia continues to provide assistance to Armenia in the fight against HIV / AIDS, infectious and non-infectious diseases.
In turn, the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko noted in his speech that a large number of patients with military injuries are a serious challenge for the health care system. <The fact that the doctors are in control of the situation is indeed heroism. We are ready to provide our Armenian partners with both practical and consulting assistance in this area, "he said.
It is reported that after the opening ceremony, a closed meeting was held, during which the participants discussed the progress of the ongoing joint programs, the framework for cooperation and further actions.
