ArmInfo. The package of documents regulating the framework of the Russian peacekeeping operations in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was signed following a meeting in Yerevan by the heads of the defense departments of Armenia and Russia Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Sergey Shoigu.
As ArmInfo was told in the press service of the RA Defense Ministry, during the meeting with the Russian side in an expanded format, the current situation around Nagorno Karabakh, forthcoming steps, as well as a wide range of issues of the Armenian-Russian military cooperation were discussed.
The parties highly appreciated the role and efforts of the Russian Federation in stabilizing the military- political situation in the region, and pointed out the importance of work on the exchange of bodies of killed servicemen, prisoners of war and hostages, and the search for missing persons. The important role of the Russian Inter-Departmental Humanitarian Center, established in Nagorno-Karabakh, with the aim of returning refugees, restoring civilian infrastructure and searching for missing persons, was indicated.
