ArmInfo. The implementation of "Pashinyan's plan", that is, if it becomes real and successful, will fully allow him to regain his own pre-war political positions.
A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by Head of Caucasus Department of the CIS Institute Vladimir Evseev .
"There is no doubt that the Armenian society is now in a state of shock. The loss of territories in the course of hostilities will be accompanied by the transfer of regions to Azerbaijan by December 1. But it's not just the territories. People have lost relatives and friends, many were wounded. In this light, knots and hindrances on the way of the process of stabilizing the situation are inevitable>, the expert believes. Nevertheless, the change of power in Armenia, which is supposed to be accompanied by a revision of the trilateral agreement, according to Evseev 's forecasts, could lead to a much greater tragedy. And, according to his estimates, in general, the Armenian society is aware of this prospect. In this light, the gradual stabilization of the situation in the country, according to his forecasts, is the most likely scenario for the development of the situation.
According to the expert, this is evidenced by the opposition's lack of serious public support. Especially against the background of the first outburst of public emotions gradually fading away. And given the already ongoing gradual decrease in protest moods and a cold snap, according to his forecasts, one should not expect an increase in opposition in Armenian society.
"And of course it is important that Pashinyan himself is not going to give up. And the plan of action presented to him suggests that he is definitely not going to leave. It is also important that the plan presents specific priority tasks that are understandable to every Armenian. Even now the party in power has the support of at least a quarter of the population. And controlling the parliament, of course, there will be no initiating early elections, "Evseev summed up.
To recall, on November 18, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his intention to carry out full-scale reforms in the country. Considering himself the main responsible for the current situation, he stressed that the responsibility to get out of it is also his responsibility. The following are among the immediate tasks of the government: the resumption of the peace process in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs with an emphasis on the status of Artsakh and the priority of returning the people of Artsakh to their places of residence. Restoring normal life in Artsakh, residential and public buildings and infrastructure. Social guarantees for servicemen with disabilities, the immediate return of captured military personnel and civilians, providing them with social guarantees, as well as army reforms, overcoming the coronavirus and eliminating its consequences, demographic problems. Pashinyan voiced the need for changes in the Electoral Code and the Law on Parties, the creation of an institution of specialized judges, and the application of the law on the confiscation of illegal property.
