ArmInfo. Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian awarded the crew members of the downed Russian helicopter by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the territory of the Republic of Armenia with a medal. This was reported by the presidential press service.
According to the source, the President accepted as a basis the request of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, signed a decree to award the medal "For Military Merit" to Yuri Ishuk (posthumously), Roman Vasilyevich Fedina (posthumously) and Vladislav Sergeevich Gryazin.
To note, on November 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Mi-24 helicopter was shot down from MANPADS over the territory of Armenia outside the combat zone near the border with Azerbaijan (Nakhichevan). As a result of the incident, two people died, and another was injured. Later, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry admitted that it was the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan who shot down the Russian helicopter.
