ArmInfo. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian made a speech with a message to the people, in which he announced the need to resign government and early parliamentary elections.
He said that he held several meetings with parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces, public groups and figures, held telephone conversations with representatives of the diaspora, as a result of which it became clear that the majority agreed on one thing - the resignation of the government and the holding of early parliamentary elections were necessary.
According to the President, "given the urgency of a worthy overcoming of the current situation, listening to the demands of society, it is obvious that in order for the country not to shake, early elections to the National Assembly will be inevitable." In this context, he believes, the only responsible approach can be an objective assessment of the potential of the government and the ruling political force in order to present a roadmap in a short time, which will indicate the timing of the start of the relevant constitutional processes. The government of the country must be transferred to the highly qualified government of the National Accord.
In this situation, the president turned to law enforcement agencies. "Today you have a great responsibility, first of all, to ensure order in our country, to be strong, decisive, but at the same time, every time, in every case, remember that you have a sister or brother in front of you.
Any deviation, any violation of the law is unacceptable and unforgivable. I urge you to observe and protect the rule of law!>, The President of Armenia said.
The President noted that it is possible to lose the battle, but it is impermissible to lose as a nation.
