ArmInfo. Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II made a statement in connection with the latest processes around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Garegin II's statement reads in particular: "The events and decisions  taken in our homeland in the last hours in connection with the  settlement of the Artsakh conflict shook the souls of all of us. last  44 days, our brave Armenians of Artsakh, who overcame the suffering  of the war, every soldier and commander standing on the front line at  the moment we all have had a hard lot, but it is also a  responsibility - with sober courage, far-sighted wisdom and  unshakable determination to act for the good of the Motherland.

This is a prayer in our hearts for the sake of our national wisdom  and unity. With a firm awareness of the lessons of centuries of  history and the need to preserve national unity, we call for calm,  not to give in to unnecessary displays of emotion, refrain from  violence and unrest.

The current crisis should be resolved by joint efforts of the  military-political forces of Armenia and Artsakh.

Our conduct must never jeopardize the lives of soldiers who bravely  continue their sacred service in the trenches. In this situation, the  rear must remain stronger than ever, solidarity and stability must be  a strong rear, so that together we can find solutions and a way out  in the name of Artsakh and Armenia, in the name of a safe and  reliable life for our people.

We also call on the authorities of Armenia and Artsakh to immediately  provide our people with sound and comprehensive explanations about  the decisions made and their impact on the future of our Motherland,  Artsakh and the Diaspora.

We bow before the victorious spirit of our patriotic defenders and  highly value the dedication and self- sacrifice of every child of our  people. We believe in the wisdom of our people. God save us and our  Motherland. "
