ArmInfo. Already today, one can state the failure of Baku's intentions to achieve great results through lightning war. And this is despite the enormous efforts and resources put in this direction, including technical and terrorist ones. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by the head of the department of Eurasian integration and development of the SCO of the Institute of the CIS countries, military expert Vladimir Evseev.
"The war dragged on, and its intensity subsided due to the stubborn military, political and diplomatic opposition of the defending side. Baku's plans failed, which put their organizers into a state of uncertainty. Moreover, in the recent period, the terrorist threat has received a completely new perception in the world. And this is by no means not into the hands of Azerbaijan, "he said.
Evseev explains the impossibility of holding negotiations between the parties to the conflict at this stage by the lack of a balance of interests. All this is taking place against the backdrop of intensive negotiations between Baku and Ankara in order to find a way out of the situation. And of course, it leads to an ever greater growth of Turkish influence in Azerbaijan. According to him, in turn, Russia is quite capable at any moment to follow the path of forcing the parties to peace. And of course, I am ready to fulfill all my obligations to protect Armenia.
According to the expert, today Moscow is exerting not only diplomatic but also political pressure on Turkey. This is expressed by periodic statements about the presence of terrorists in the conflict zone, as well as by certain measures in northern Syria.
Meanwhile, this region is a vulnerable zone for Turkey, since it is there that the Turkish military is concentrated.
According to him, the armaments of the Russian army make it possible to carry out any operations on the territory of Syria and not only Syria. In this light, Moscow continues to negotiate with Ankara on the need to neutralize terrorist activity, both in this region and in Artsakh. Yevseev explains the latter by making decisions on the situation in Artsakh exclusively by Ankara.
"It is necessary to understand that negotiations with Turkey on the situation in Artsakh are not easy for us. The point is that Russian-Turkish relations are not limited to Artsakh. These relations are quite voluminous and complex. In this light, a concession in one region of the conflict may turn into another and on the contrary. Accordingly, Moscow continues to make efforts to avoid further destabilization and reach a result exclusively through and within the framework of the diplomatic process, " Evseev summed up.
