ArmInfo. The European Union stated that the continuation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, despite the ceasefire agreement, is unacceptable. This is stated in a statement by the spokesman for the EU's foreign policy service Peter Stano, RBC reports.
"The European Union considers it unacceptable that after three ceasefire agreements concluded with the mediation of Russia, France and the United States, hostilities in and around Nagorno-Karabakh are still continuing," Stano said in a statement. He also drew attention to the fact that there are "more and more reports" that civilians are being attacked.
The European Union called on the parties to the conflict to ensure the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian standards, as well as to immediately begin negotiations on a peaceful settlement.
