ArmInfo. Under martial law, the Armenian government will have the right to attract property of individuals and legal entities. The RA National Assembly at an extraordinary sitting on October 27 discusses amendments to the law "On the legal regime of martial law".
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Gabriel Balayan, if necessary, the government will receive the right to attract the property of individuals and legal entities. The document streamlines relations associated with attracting this property, the procedure for its use and guarantees for appropriate compensation for possible damage caused. When attracting property, a protocol is drawn up.
The lawmakers also discussed amendments to the law "On Defense" and in a package of related laws. The deputy minister noted that the package at the legislative level defines such a concept as the militia, which is formed when there are threats to the state. The militia system will operate on a territorial basis, and according to the territorial division of the Republic of Armenia, it will consist of military units as part of brigades and regiments. The direct leadership of the militia will be carried out by the chief of the general staff through the militia headquarters. The head of the militia will be the deputy head of a particular community, and in Yerevan, the deputy mayor. The militia is formed only on a voluntary basis.
