Forecast: Peacekeepers will be deployed in Artsakh when Azerbaijan  also asks about it

ArmInfo.The third violation by Erdogan and Aliyev of the agreements on the establishment of a humanitarian ceasefire was a blow to the personal images of Putin, Macron and Trump. Political scientist Tevan Poghosyan expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.

On October 24, Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab  Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov at a meeting with US Deputy  Secretary of State Stephen Bigan" reaffirmed their commitment to the  implementation of the ceasefire agreement for humanitarian purposes."  On October 25, the State Department announced the return of the  parties to the conflict to a ceasefire at 08:00 on October 26. This  is already the third initiative on a ceasefire for humanitarian  purposes, however, according to the Artsakh Defense Army, Azerbaijan  has already violated this ceasefire.

"It is clear that the Turks and Azerbaijanis will try to shift the  blame for their own disregard for the leadership of the world's  leading countries on Armenia. Accordingly, we need to prevent this  scenario and move forward in accordance with our interests. It is  clear that everything starts from the battlefield.  Nevertheless , in  parallel, serious diplomatic, political, informational and economic  activities are needed, " he stressed.

Poghosyan is convinced that Yerevan's unilateral calls for the  deployment of peacekeepers cannot be successful. The deployment of  peacekeepers in Artsakh, in his opinion, can become a reality if  Azerbaijan also asks about it. The political scientist considers that  it will happen if such strikes and actions of the Armenian arm are  taken, which will simply force Baku to talk about peacekeepers.

The deployment of peacekeepers, in his opinion, can also be  facilitated by the growth of international political pressure on  Azerbaijan to the extent of forcing Baku to peace. At the same time,  today Poghosyan does not see any other country except Russia that can  explain the situation to Baku and take on a peacekeeping mission.

"As far as I understand, such an idea is gradually maturing, however,  it is not possible to predict when it will be implemented today. It  seems to me that the world should eventually respond to the  consequences of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem and terrorists by  pressure on Baku and Ankara. If the countries with interests in the  region do not want to lose it, they must act. Nevertheless, the  Armenian army and militia remain the first compulsory force today,  "the political scientist concluded.
