As reported by the press  service of the RA government, the Prime Minister thanked the  parliamentarians from France for their visit at this difficult time  for Armenia and for the support of the Armenian people. "I would also  like to express my gratitude for the activities of French President  Emmanuel Macron, who was the first international leader to speak of  this situation in the language of truth, clearly stating that  mercenaries from Syria are involved in the war against Karabakh and  that Turkey is the main instigator of this war," - Pashinyan  stressed, adding that he is in constant contact with the President of  France. Touching upon the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenian  Prime Minister noted that tensions remain on the front line. "In  fact, Azerbaijan rejects international efforts related to the  ceasefire, citing various reasons.  By and large, the situation is as  follows: a compromise that becomes acceptable for Armenia immediately  becomes unacceptable for Azerbaijan. This is not news, we have been  observing this situation in the negotiation process for a long time.  I can cite the example of 2011 to show that this is not a new  style.In 2011, when the well-known Kazan process was taking place,  the Republic of Armenia made a certain compromise, and there was an  agreed text of the settlement, but Azerbaijan refused to sign it at  the last moment, having toughened up his position, "the prime  minister said, pointing out the importance of this nuance.

According to the Prime Minister, the entire world community expects a  solution to the Karabakh problem through a compromise, which is  understandable. "Compromise means that the parties should show some  flexibility in comparison with their initial guidelines, but the  whole problem is that when Armenia makes certain concessions, the  situation immediately becomes unacceptable for Azerbaijan, and it  requires more.  It is this trend and process. led to war. The same is  happening during the war, starting with the Moscow statement. Also,  with the mediation of President Macron, an agreement was reached, and  Azerbaijan is constantly and consistently violating the ceasefire  agreements, "the head of Armenia stated, adding that there is also a  large and Turkey plays a decisive role, since every time there are  discussions on a ceasefire, statements are made from Ankara at the  level of the Foreign Minister or the President that, in their  opinion, Azerbaijan should not stop hostilities. "This is a very  important nuance, because, in fact, we can say that at most one third  of the hostilities is controlled by the President of Azerbaijan,  because Turkish soldiers are involved in these actions, as well as  terrorists and mercenaries who are controlled by Turkish soldiers in  the very Azerbaijan, "Pashinyan noted. The Prime Minister added that  Armenia's views on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict  remain the same. "We believe that there is no military solution to  the issue and a compromise option must be found. Armenia, as before,  is ready for a compromise, but the main obstacle to progress here is  that any situation, acceptable for Armenia, the logic of compromise,  immediately becomes unacceptable for Azerbaijan, and every time, of  course, with the support of Turkey, they begin to demand more. And in  this case it is not clear where the limit of their demands and  appetite is. 

Consequently, in this logic, the first task remains the self-defense  of Nagorno-Karabakh and its people, so that it is possible to really  diplomatic compromise solution, "Nikol Pashinyan emphasized. Then the  Prime Minister answered a number of questions from French  parliamentarians, touched upon discussions with the heads of the OSCE  Minsk Group co-chairing countries, Turkey's destructive policy and  its regional aspirations, Israel's indirect participation in the  Karabakh-Azerbaijani conflict and the expectations of the Armenian  people from the international community. The Prime Minister stressed  that clarification of the status of Artsakh and the implementation of  the right to self-determination remains an important task for the  Armenian people. The members of the French parliamentary delegation  thanked for the detailed discussion and informed that they are going  to go to Nagorno-Karabakh to get acquainted with the situation on the  spot
