Thus, according to the Tasnim agency, the Iranian Armed Forces conducted exercises in the north-west of the country in the regions bordering with Armenia and Azerbaijan. The ground forces of the Iranian army took part in the maneuvers, artillery and engineering units, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles were involved. It is noted that the task of the exercises was to chrck the combat readiness of the armed forces in the border areas.
A few days before the military exercises, it became known about the transfer of additional forces of the
Iranian army and units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the north-west of the country. Last week, Iran checked the combat readiness of the air defense forces.
It is also worth noting that against the background of the escalation in Karabakh, Tehran has repeatedly stated that it will respond appropriately to any attacks on its territory, even if the opposite side does it unintentionally. The statements came after repeated hits of rockets and shells from the conflict zone around Nagorno-Karabakh on Iranian territory, some of which resulted in injuries to residents of border areas.
