ArmInfo. The Jewish community of Armenia appealed to the leadership of the State of Israel with an appeal to stop the supply of weapons to Azerbaijan.
The address to President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Speaker of the Knesset of the State of Israel Yariv Levin said: "Since September 27, Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia have been subjected to brutal aggression by Azerbaijan with the active assistance and direct participation of Turkey, which supplies Azerbaijan with weapons and military equipment, and also hires and dispatches jihadists from Syria for the war against Armenians.
Unfortunately, in the midst of the armed conflict, Israel continues to supply Azerbaijan with the latest types of strategic weapons. The weapons supplied to Azerbaijan today fall into the hands of radical Islamists and are used against the civilians of Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia.
These facts negatively affect not only the good name of Israel, but also the attitude towards Jews in general, and contribute to the emergence of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic sentiments in the Armenian society, despite the fact that until now, Jews in Armenia have been respected and have never felt anti-Semitism.
We understand the issues of Israel's strategic security, the issues of economic interaction and the principles of treaty obligations, but in the current critical situation, when civilians and children are dying, there can be no excuses and explanations.
It is very painful that it is the long-suffering Israel, tirelessly fighting against Islamic terrorism, supplying weapons to those on whose side the jihadist mercenaries are fighting. We hope that Israel will take all necessary measures to prevent the escalation of the conflict into a catastrophe on a global scale.
On behalf of the Jewish community of Armenia, we call on the leadership of the State of Israel and all its citizens to come out for the cessation of arms supplies to Azerbaijan and to promote a ceasefire and hostilities between Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia.>
