Armenian Foreign Minister: The first priority is to overcome the  crisis caused by Azerbaijan`s aggression

ArmInfo.For us in these difficult negotiations, the priority was to reach a situation where it would be possible to put an end to this aggression. RA Foreign  Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated this in an interview to the  Public Television of Armenia, upon completion of negotiations in  Moscow with the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Russia, which  lasted about 11 hours.

"The aggression in this case was special, since the actions of  Azerbaijan were openly and strongly supported by Turkey, as well as  with the involvement of international terrorist groups. In fact, our  compatriots in Nagorno-Karabakh fought in very specific conditions,  when, besides Azerbaijan, such forces were involved in the attack,"   said Mnatsakanyan, while adding that the situation in the region  remains rather fragile, it is necessary to achieve a ceasefire, since  this situation is a serious challenge both for the region and for  Nagorno-Karabakh.

At the same time, he stated that there could be no progress in the  negotiations or movement forward until the current situation is  finished.

According to him, in the course of lengthy negotiations, it was  possible to fix the need to ceasefire, end this barbarism, this war,  fix the pause, and then only talk about the peace process, and also  confirm that the co- chairmanship of the Minsk Group remains the only  format that is international -recognized platform for negotiations  and the peace process. The Foreign Minister added that no other  force, especially Turkey, can play a role in this sense.

"The primary task is to overcome this crisis," Mnatsakanyan said,  adding that the co-chairs, heads of states of the OSCE MG co-chairing  countries, foreign ministers of the co-chairing countries played an  important role in this issue starting on day one. He pointed to the  role of the President of France, the United States and Russia.

"Others have also contributed by statements about the inadmissibility  of hostilities and the need to return to dialogue. But I would like  to highlight the role of Russia in this matter. Russian President  Vladimir Putin personally contributed to the process of stabilizing  the situation. But, today we are here to try to get a real practical  result based on the dialogue that took place between the leaders of  Russia and Armenia and Russia and Azerbaijan. Our goal, of course, is  to achieve their implementation. We hope that tomorrow after 12:00  (already today, Ed. note) we will be able to stop this challenge,  threat hanging over our compatriots. This situation once again  indicated the justification of our fears about the physical safety of  our compatriots, and this once again underlines the priority of this  element in peace negotiations. It is important for us to recognize  and implement the right of our compatriots in Nagorno-Karabakh to  self-determination and all the resulting of these elements, "he said.      At the same time, he stated that with the assistance of the  International Committee of the Red Cross, it will be necessary to  take actions to implement humanitarian issues, then to consolidate  the ceasefire regime, to consolidate the mechanisms to exclude the  fire. At the same time, the Armenian Foreign Minister added that here  an important function has been assigned to Russia and the co-chairs.  "If you noticed, the document that we have agreed upon assumes  step-by-step actions aimed at stabilizing the situation, restoring  regional stability, restoring and strengthening the security system  for our compatriots in Artsakh, as well as continuing peace  negotiations," the Foreign Minister of Armenia summed up.
