ArmInfo. Director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan in an interview with the NSN TV company reasonably noted that with the announced resources and capabilities, Azerbaijan should have won this war on the very first day, but, as  you know, it still continues.

"Yes, Azerbaijan has a larger resource base, this is true. Azerbaijan  is richer than Armenia, and even more so - Nagorno-Karabakh. And  weapons has been acquired for this war during the recent twenty five  years.  Geographically Azerbaijan is located more advantageously, if  viewed from the position of the current conflict. There are  undoubtedly more forces. But there is no result! The war has been  going on for the 7th day, and with such advantages described by the  Azerbaijani side, everything should have ended on the first day, "the  NSN interlocutor believes.

On October 1, the OSCE "Minsk Group" co-chairs (Russia, France and  the United States) issued a joint statement on the fighting in  Nagorno-Karabakh. They called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to  immediately stop hostilities and "without putting forward additional  conditions" to sit down at the negotiating table with the assistance  of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

The Armenian political scientist believes that Yerevan heeded such a  recommendation and therefore offered to sit down at the negotiating  table. "Armenia has always offered a peaceful solution to the  problem. This is one of three main theses: self-determination of  nations, inviolability of borders and the peace process. We made  repeated attempts to resolve the situation, but periodically there  was a de- escalation of the conflict, and now there is a war, "the  Armenian political scientist specified.

As the resource notes, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev ruled out  the likelihood of negotiations with Armenia on the situation in  Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan indicated  that military leaders from Turkey are leading the military actions of  Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh.
