ArmInfo. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian sent congratulations to the President of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiades on the occasion of the national holiday - Independence Day.
In his message, Armen Sargsyan emphasized the close relationship with Cyprus based on centuries-old friendship, historical and cultural ties, common spiritual values, which are the best basis for deepening and developing bilateral cooperation.
"As you know, early in the morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack on the Artsakh Republic, also targeting the civilian population. For decades, Azerbaijan has been trying to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by military force, ignoring all international and moral norms, refusing, at the negotiating table, to find the key to a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Artsakh and Armenia unanimously oppose this adventurous and destructive policy of the Azerbaijani leadership, headed by Turkey, and continue to respond to the enemy with dignity. I am sure that at this difficult time for Armenia and Artsakh, brotherly Cyprus stands next to us, "he said.
The President of Armenia wished his Cypriot counterpart good health and success, and the friendly people of Cyprus - peace and continued progress.
