As part of the fact-finding mission launched in the office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh, a thorough study and analysis of cases of encroachment by the Azerbaijani armed forces on the civilian population of Artsakh was carried out from September 27, 2020 to September 30, 2020.
According to the Office of the Artsakh Ombudsman, 7 civilians were killed, one of those killed was a young girl, two were 24 and 65-year-old men, four were women 59, 61, 63 and 79 years old. A young child, four women and a man were killed in the yard of their house, and a young man was killed near the village.
31 people were seriously injured: 7 of them were women and 24 were men. 23 of the mentioned persons were injured right at their place of residence, as a result of a shell explosion in a residential building or in its vicinity (while in two cases the shell exploded right in the courtyard of an apartment building), six were injured during transportation to a relatively safe place, as the enemy took aim at a civilian vehicle, two in other public places. In Stepanakert and its environs, 10 people were injured, in the Hadrut regional center - one person, in the Tagaser village - three people, in the Vardashat village - one person, in the Martuni regional center - five people, in the Spitak Shen village - one person, in the Martakert regional center - one person, in the vicinity of the village of Magavuz - four people, in the village of Nerkin Oratag - two people, in the village of Mataghis- one person, in the city of Karvachar, Shahumyan region - two people.
The number of affected citizens by age groups: up to 14 years old - three, 15-25 years old - one, 26-35 years old - 4 people, 36-50 years old - 8 people, over 50 - 15 people.
