ArmInfo. If Turkey tries to openly get involved in the war between Azerbaijan and Artsakh, Iran and Russia will also follow its example. Political scientist Andrias Ghukasyan expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.
"Tehran has already responded accordingly to the corresponding statement from Ankara. Russia, in turn, is an ally of Armenia and in case of direct involvement of Turkey in the hostilities around Artsakh, naturally, will join them. All this is a serious basis for the final destabilization of the situation, which will have grave consequences, first of all for Turkey, "he forecasts.
According to Ghukasyan's estimates, so far Ankara has been assisting Baku by sending volunteers from Syria to Azerbaijan. Armenia does the same by replenishing the ranks of the Artsakh Defense Army with volunteers. Thus, the Turks are trying to fill certain gaps in the Azerbaijani army, since volunteers are incapable of playing a serious role in the confrontation between the two regular armies. This is how the situation in Artsakh radically differs from that of Syrian, Libyan, etc.
According to the political scientist, it is already possible to record the failure of Azerbaijan's main task - to destroy the Artsakh army. Baku failed to achieve the same task by damaging the civilian infrastructures of Artsakh. According to Ghukasyan, at this stage Baku is trying to find ways out of the situation that has developed through its own fault. Primarily due to the expenditure of a significant part of their military resources. Moreover, the events taking place right now, according to the political scientist, take place to the detriment of Azerbaijan.
"In this light, Baku is trying by diplomatic means to reach a point, allowing to restore the Minsk format and achieve a new truce without preconditions. Yerevan, in turn, is now trying to resist external pressure - the same Moscow demands the establishment of a ceasefire regime without preconditions. Yerevan is ready to recognize the Republic of Artsakh. This is the political goal of Yerevan in this war, "the political scientist concluded.
