Pompeo: US committed to further developing partnership with Armenia

ArmInfo. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sent a congratulatory message to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the occasion of the Independence Day of the  Republic of Armenia.

According to the press service of the US Embassy in Armenia, the  message reads, in particular:  "On behalf of the United States of  America, I congratulate the people of Armenia on the occasion of  Independence Day, which was marked by the proclamation of  independence and secession from the Soviet Union.

The United States is committed to further developing our bilateral  partnership, strengthening the ties between our peoples based on  shared democratic values and the pursuit of peace and prosperity.   The United States welcomes Armenia's continued commitment to  strengthening the rule of law, building an independent judiciary, and  expanding economic and investment opportunities.

We also welcome Armenia's continued efforts to combat corruption  through transparency, the rule of law and increased accountability to  citizens, and we will continue to support you in these efforts.  We  will also continue to promote a peaceful settlement of the  Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and urge the parties to resume substantive  negotiations as soon as possible under the auspices of the Minsk  Group co- chairs.

While COVID-19 has brought unique challenges to the world this year,  we are proud that our close collaboration in the fight against the  pandemic has further strengthened the partnership between our  peoples. I wish the Armenian people a year of peace, freedom and  prosperity
