ArmInfo. The situation with the coronavirus in Armenia is somewhat reassuring, stated on September 17 on meeting of the government, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to him, in the last month, with the exception of one day, less than 200 new cases of morbidity are registered daily in the country.
COVID-19. At the same time, the number of tests has increased significantly. For example, 4319 tests were carried out the day before, against 4135 the day before. The Prime Minister recalled that during the most difficult period less than 3 thousand citizens were tested. Nikol Pashinyan also pointed to the increased number of crowds of people, which, in his opinion, is associated with the beginning of the new academic year. As a rule, he continued, the movement of schoolchildren is one of the most massive.
In turn, RA Deputy Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan noted that the number of confirmed cases continues to remain at a fairly high level for the simple reason that the number of tests has significantly increased. The Ministry of Health is concerned about the detection rate of COVID-19, which is 7%. This growth is due to the activation before the educational process - the purchase of school supplies and accessories, the return from holiday homes, etc. Until September 15, when schools opened, citizens were active. Over the next two weeks, the situation will become clear as a result of the resumption of the school process. Despite the end of the state of emergency, however, those restrictions that are in force must be strictly supported. By adhering to these norms and rules, it will be possible to stop the upward trend in morbidity so that there is no sharp surge in the fall, which can again lead to stress in the health care system. Nikol Pashinyan, continuing the topic, stressed that today there is one proven mechanism of struggle - the wearing of masks. And this the mechanism must be strictly followed. It is also important to be consistent in the fight against the coronavirus. He called on the police to apply the most stringent measures against violators, while maintaining the rule of law and respect for the rights of citizens. The Prime Minister stressed that in the current conditions it is impossible to mothball the economy and it is necessary to take parallel steps - developing the economy and fighting the virus. Those countries that have followed the path of severe restrictions, and have achieved certain success in this matter, today are faced with serious problems in the economy.
Note that in Armenia over the past day, two people have died from the coronavirus - an 84-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man who had concomitant chronic diseases. The day before, there were no deaths of patients with confirmed coronavirus. Over the past day, 295 new cases of coronavirus were recorded, 162 patients recovered, 4,319 tests were carried out.
As of the morning of September 17, 46,671 confirmed cases of coronavirus were recorded in Armenia. 925 people died from COVID-19, 42,231 patients were cured.
