ArmInfo. Armenia is at the forefront of the region in terms of COVID-19 cases. On September 15 from the rostrum of the parliament Vaye Enfiajyan, the vice-speaker of the "Prosperous Armenia" faction, stated this.

At a meeting on January 15, the National Assembly of the country is  discussing the composition of the investigation commission to  investigate the actions of the Armenian authorities during the  pandemic. It is proposed, in particular, to approve the composition  of 12 members - 7 deputies from the ruling "My Step" faction, 3 -  from the "Prosperous Armenia" faction and 2 - from the "Enlightened  Armenia" faction.  The commission itself was created by force of the  law of one fourth of the deputy corps.

According to the vice-speaker, 15558 cases of coronavirus have been  officially confirmed in Armenia per 1 million inhabitants. In Iran,  this figure is 4805, in Azerbaijan - 3781, in Georgia - 342, in  Turkey - 3465.  These data, as noted by the vice-speaker, indicate a  worsening situation with COVID-19 in the country. In addition,  Enfiajyan continued, hundreds of millions of dollars have been  attracted to fight the coronavirus, and those in charge must answer  the question about its effective use. Meanwhile, representatives of  the authorities, and especially the Minister of Health, often sound  strange, sometimes contradictory statements.  The parliamentary  commission to investigate the actions of the authorities during a  pandemic should provide answers to all these and other questions.

In turn, the initiator of the creation of the commission, the head of  the "Enlightened Armenia" faction Edmon Marukyan stressed that the  creation of the commission proceeds from the public interest in the  problem. According to him, the citizens of the country have  repeatedly applied to the RA NA faction with questions related to  COVID-19, to which there is no answer. The commission, according to  him, must work openly and transparently so that all raised questions  are answered. It is possible that in the course of work there will be  a need to hold a closed meeting, but 85% of all meetings of the new  body should be open.  It should be noted that since September 11, the  state of emergency has been canceled in Armenia, which has been  replaced by quarantine, which will operate four months - until  January 11, 2021. According to data for September 15, the number of  confirmed cases of infection in the country coronavirus increased to  46119. During the day, 150 new cases of infection were detected. From  complications caused by coronavirus in Armenia 920 people died (plus  1 over the past day). The number of patients with coronavirus who  died for other reasons is 283 (plus 1 case over the past day). The  number of people recovered from the infection is 41 941. 2975 people  are being treated. The total number of tests performed was 243704.
