ArmInfo. The court session on the case of the former RA Minister of Finance, former head of the State Reform Commission Gagik Khachatryan and his nephew Karen Khachatryan has been postponed.
Today, within the framework of the court hearing, the court was presented with a notification from Gagik Khachatryan, according to which he cannot appear in court for health reasons. In this regard, the accused asked to postpone the hearing. The court, for its part, announced its plans to send a request to the penitentiary institution in order to obtain relevant information about Khachatryan's health. The next court session is scheduled for September 30th.
To recall, Gagik Khachatryan is accused of large-scale embezzlement and abuse of office. Gagik Khachatryan and his relative Karen Khachatryan (former employee of the SRC) were detained on August 27. Gagik Khachatryan was charged under Articles 308 (abuse of office, which through negligence led to grave consequences), 179 (embezzlement or embezzlement on an especially large scale), 38-179 (assistance in misappropriation) and 314 (official forgery) articles of the RA Criminal Code. In turn, Karen Khachatryan was charged under Articles 179 (embezzlement or embezzlement on an especially large scale) and 314 (official forgery) articles of the RA Criminal Code. Both of them were detained and then arrested at the end of August last year. According to preliminary information, employees had been registered in the SRC who received salaries, but who did not actually go to work.
