ArmInfo. Arsen Julfalakyan is a good MP and could continue to serve the interests of Armenia. The lawmaker from <My Step> Tigran Ulikhanyan expressed this opinion in an interview with journalists on September 11.
To recall, on September 9 Julfalakyan, also representing "My Step", announced his decision to give up his lawmaker mandate. He substantiated this by fundamental disagreements with the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan regarding approaches to the management of the fields under his jurisdiction. Julfalakyan also noted that the path chosen by the minister is unpromising and will not solve the existing problems.
Ulikhanyan noted that for many representatives of "My Step", Julfalakyan's decision came as a surprise. Meanwhile, referring to his criticism of the minister, the lawmaker noted that he did not consider it correct, especially with such formulations. According to him, if the minister continues to hold his post, it means that he continues to enjoy the trust of the Prime Minister and the political team.
Ulikhanyan also noted that Julfalakyan could discuss the issues causing his discontent with the faction. "There are no topics or questions that could not be the topic of our discussion," he added. At the same time, he expressed regret at the decision of his fellow in the faction, noting that Julfalakyan is a good lawmaker and could continue to serve the interests of Armenia. In his words, Julfalakyan's issue was discussed during today's meeting of "My Step", and the public will be informed about the decision of the faction later.
To note, earlier in Yerevan a number of protests were held demanding the resignation of Harutyunyan. Meanwhile, the minister himself notes that the issue of his removal from office is not being discussed.
