ArmInfo. MP from the "My Step" faction Artur Hovhannisyan did not agree with Arsen Julfalakyan's critical opinion regarding educational reforms.
To recall, that on September 9 Julfalakyan, also representing "My Step", announced his decision to lay down his mandate. He substantiated this by fundamental disagreements with the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan regarding approaches to the management of the sectors under his jurisdiction. Julfalakyan also noted that the path chosen by the minister is unpromising and will not solve the existing problems.
Meanwhile, in an interview with journalists on September 11, Hovhannisyan noted that he considers Julfalakyan's formulations unsuccessful, adding that his decision to resign was a surprise for the faction. He also pointed out that the MPs have all the levers to express their opinions, and Julfalakyan did not use them to the fullest. Speaking about the educational policy of Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, the lawmaker noted that this policy represents not only his opinion, but also the opinion of the entire political team of "My Step". At the same time, as it was noted, the public was informed about it before and after the Velvet Revolution. As for the initiative of "Bright Armenia" to express no confidence in Minister Harutyunyan, this faction, as Hovhannisyan noted, has every right to do so.
To note, earlier a number of protests were held in Yerevan demanding the resignation of Harutyunyan. Meanwhile, the minister himself notes that the issue of his removal from office is not being discussed.
