ArmInfo.Considering that the National Security Service, like many other state structures, was created with the assistance of Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan, the NSS cannot be useful in resolving the tasks facing the Special Investigation Service today. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by the representative of the victim in the "March 1 case" Seda Safaryan.
"We all know that during the period when NSS was headed by Artur Vanetsyan, it was no coincidence that many people who committed various crimes left Armenia. Meanwhile, ensuring the whereabouts of those who committed criminal offenses in Armenia was precisely the task of NSS. Moreover, this happened precisely due to the leak information from NSS, "the lawyer emphasized.
Safaryan also noted the absence during this period of real steps by NSS towards investigating cases and crimes, on which the structure received relevant information. According to her estimates, it was the dependence of the NSS director on members of the oligarchic system, who were simultaneously participants in the March 1 events, that greatly impeded the investigation of the March 1 case. That is why, for example, weapons disappeared from the hiding places indicated by the investigation.
And today, according to the lawyer, there are concerns about the reliability and loyalty to duty of some officials from the NSS, of course, excluding the recently appointed top officials of this structure. But many in the NSS are still in place. And those who are mainly engaged in the implementation of information do not inspire confidence and have connections with representatives of the previous government, which means that it makes no sense to provide them with any information. Safaryan is deeply convinced that if SIS had its own staff of operatives, the "March 1 case" would move forward much faster, since people could trust and, accordingly, turn to SIS.
"People often turn to me with factual data who are able to solve a variety of criminal cases. However, understanding the essence of the situation and not being able to contact SIS, I still cannot contact and give the case to NSS. This structure has never helped The fact-finding group, and today it does not help the investigation, because for these people it will mean chopping off the branch they are sitting on. These people not only continue to work. Many of them go for promotion, without changing their own behavior. And I would really I wanted to understand for what such merits they are being promoted today, "the lawyer summed up.
