ArmInfo.The Armenian Armed Forces continue to maintain quarantine measures due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. This is stated in the statement of the RA Ministry of Defense, received by ArmInfo.
"The Ministry of Defense of Armenia declares that, despite the mitigation of anti-epidemic measures in the country in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, to prevent the penetration of coronavirus infection into the RA Armed Forces, as well as to preserve the combat effectiveness of personnel in the army, preventive measures will remain and certain restrictions will be applied.
The restrictions applied in the Armed Forces are aimed at maintaining the combat readiness of personnel. Due to the applied restrictions, the epidemic situation in the Armed Forces is currently manageable, "the RA Defense Ministry stressed.
The Ministry added that conscripts still will not be able to exercise their right to leave of any kind; visits are also prohibited.
"It is strictly forbidden to visit military structures, places of permanent deployment (including military hospitals) for the purpose of visiting. In addition, contract servicemen are instructed to minimize or, if possible, exclude communication with the civilian population, not to participate in mass events (festivals, funeral, etc.), "the RA Ministry of Defense said.
The Defense Ministry again called on the parents and relatives of military personnel to refrain from visiting to military units and hospitals, thereby excluding contacts with the servicemen.
rThe RA Defense Ministry also expressed gratitude to the parents of the servicemen for their understanding, stressing once again that the most important task now is to maintain the combat capability of the troops.
