ArmInfo. On September 10, a protest action of private entrepreneurs engaged in retail trade took place in front of the RA Government building.
The protesters say the cost of customs clearance for clothes and shoes has increased 6-fold. Meanwhile, according to the State Revenue Committee, customs clearance will increase 1.5-2-fold. Yesterday, private entrepreneurs met with the deputy head of the State Revenue Office Shushanik Nersisyan and received some explanations, but they are not satisfied with the new approach, according to which customs clearance of clothes should now be carried out by the piece, and not based on the weight in kg. As for the statement of the State Revenue Committee that customs clearance increases only 1.5-2fold, to confirm the opposite, a document on customs clearance of a consignment of goods was presented to journalists, showing an increase from 54 thousand drams to 316 thousand drams. According to them, Shushanik Nersisyan explained this situation the day before by the fact that the customs officers are not informed about the price policy. However, despite this, the indicators indicated in the documentation regarding this batch of goods remain unchanged as of today.
To note, the new rules came into force on September 1, but the protesters demand from the Government to give them a delay of one year, which will allow some coordination of the situation. At the same time, as noted, if the increase in the cost of customs clearance is explained by the desire to bring the customs regulation of the EAEU countries to a common denominator, then in reality, both in Russia and in Kazakhstan, customs clearance of goods for clothing is carried out not by the piece, but based on the weight in kg. Thus, according to them, there are double standards.
Participants of the action also call on the Government to pay attention to the current unstable economic situation in the world, which negatively affects importers.
