ArmInfo.Armenia will donate 10 Ford Transit cars to Artsakh for replenishment of ambulances fleet. The decision was made at the meeting of the RA government on September 10.
According to Anahit Avanesyan, RA Deputy Minister of Health, the cars were purchased by the RA Ministry of Health in 2020 within the framework of cooperation with the Republic of Artsakh in order to improve the material and technical base of the health care system and solving problems related to the provision of prompt medical care to residents of the republic. 295.8 million drams were spent on the purchase of new equipment. The cars were supposed to be purchased back in March, but the coronavirus pandemic has made adjustments to this process. In the coming days, the equipment will be transferred to the Republic of Artsakh.
To note, the cars will be transferred to the balance of the State Emergency Service of the Republic of Artsakh provided that they will be used for its intended purpose. Vehicles are equipped with the necessary medical devices and first aid kits. They are distinguished by high cross-country ability, and maximally adapted to the highlands of Artsakh. Based on the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of coronavirus infection, the priority is to improve the logistics of the ambulance service, ensure public access to medical services, and provide emergency medical care using high-capacity off-road vehicles.
