ArmInfo. Officials of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia revealed abuses by officials from the communities of Gavar and Verin Getashen.

Thus, according to the press service of the National Security Service  of the Republic of Armenia, in the course of the carried out  operational and investigative measures, factual data was obtained on  theft of property on an especially large scale by the former head of  the community Verin Getashen.

In particular, during the investigation it turned out that the former  head of the above community in 2016- 2017, in the course of work on  complete replacement of metal water supply networks with polyethylene  ones (total length 19,552 m) by prior arrangement with contractors -  the management of Madison Apple LLC and Care Building Services LLC,  hid the fact that 875 meters of this section of the water network  already were replaced with new ones back in 2015 by the efforts of  Verin Getashen residents doing business in Russia.

Thus, 56,300,000 drams were stolen from the state budget and the  community budget through fraud, allocated to the above mentioned  companies for the replacement of 2,325 meters of the pipeline.  "It  also turned out that in the course of the work, the authorized  official of the Gegharkunik Territorial Department of the State  Inspection of Urban Development and the Inspection of Financial and  Budgetary Control of the RA Ministry of Finance, as well as other  persons authorized to control construction work, having shown unfair  and disdainful attitude towards the fulfillment of their official  obligations, the works carried out by the above-mentioned contractors  were improperly accepted, which, by negligence, led to grave  consequences, causing serious damage to the state and the Verin  Getashen community, "the RA NSS statement says.

At the same time, the department noted that in the course of the  investigation of other materials in the NSS, factual evidence was  obtained that the director of the secondary school No.3 named after  Tumanyan of the city of Gavar, being an official constantly  performing organizational, managerial and administrative functions in  a state body, abused his official position with the intention of  making appropriations on an especially large scale. Namely, in the  period from 2006 to 2020, he appointed 8 persons to different  positions in the school. The abovementioned persons did not attend  work and did not fulfill their official obligations, thus 37,665,128  drams were appropriated from the state budget.

The NSS also found out that the director of this school in the period  from 2008 to 2019, having abused his official duties, did not expel  from the school 11 persons who had not attended classes for a long  time due to their absence from the country. Moreover, he instructed  the teachers to ignore the absence of these students, and in the end  to give fake school graduation certificates.

The NSS also stressed that efforts are being made to identify all  participants in the chain of crime and restore damage to the state  and community.
