ArmInfo. The Ministry of Culture of Armenia recommended that the Commandant's Office open cultural institutions in September. Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Ara Khzmalyan announced this at a press conference on September 4.
To recall, cultural institutions, including theaters and concert halls, have been closed since March due to the coronavirus situation. Meanwhile, according to Khzmalyan, they can reopen, provided that all security measures are observed. In addition, another solution may be to fill the auditoriums by half or by a third. The Deputy Minister noted that during the period of emergency, many creative teams continued to hold rehearsals, and among them there were no outbreaks of coronavirus, which is also a positive indicator.
Khzmalyan informed that the proposals of the ministry were officially presented to the Commandant's office. In addition, this issue was discussed with the Commandant's Office the day before, during the meeting. It was noted that cultural institutions may well operate as usual since September - provided that the situation with the coronavirus does not worsen.
